Kazakh President Tours Akmola to Review Harvesting Campaign

Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has visited the Zerendi district in Akmola region to assess the progress of the ongoing harvesting campaign.

Addressing local farmers, Tokayev stressed the critical role of timely harvest completion in ensuring national food security and stabilizing domestic markets, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.

“A successful harvest will not only strengthen our export potential but also create opportunities to expand supplies abroad,” he said.

Reflecting on last year’s achievements, the President highlighted Kazakhstan’s record grain harvest, attributing success to the effective use of modern agricultural technologies. He noted that agricultural production has outpaced growth in other sectors, with strong results recorded in the first eight months of 2025. “Measures to enhance the technological potential of our farms are already proving effective,” Tokayev added.

Expressing appreciation for farmers’ dedication, he said: “Every harvest is a test of professionalism, determination, and patriotism-and our farmers pass it with honor. Despite challenging conditions, you achieve high results and contribute significantly to food security, economic development, and the improvement of rural life.”

Tokayev also emphasized the unprecedented state support for the sector, highlighting a record allocation of one trillion tenge for preferential agricultural loans this year. “The impact of this systemic support is visible. The adoption of modern agrotechnologies has reached a new level, leading to higher crop yields,” he said.

Reiterating long-term goals, the President confirmed his objective to double Kazakhstan’s gross agricultural output. “Active work is underway, and there is no intention to slow down the pace,” he stressed.

During his visit, Tokayev also met with heads of regional agricultural enterprises to discuss current achievements, challenges, and priorities for the sector.
