Kazakh, Russian PMs Convene to Boost Implementation of High-Level Deals

Kazakh Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov has met with Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin to discuss the practical implementation of key high-level agreements between Kazakhstan and Russia.

The meeting highlighted the deep trust and constructive dialogue that continue reinforcing the strategic partnership and alliance between the two countries, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.

Trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Russia reached $27.8 billion in 2024, with $9.6 billion recorded in the first five months of 2025. In line with directives from their respective presidents, both sides are working to increase bilateral trade to $30 billion. Bektenov emphasized the vast potential for expanding investment cooperation and commended the Intergovernmental Cooperation Commission for its effective handling of diverse bilateral issues.

The leaders also focused on preparations for the upcoming 21st Kazakhstan-Russia Interregional Cooperation Forum, scheduled to take place this fall in Uralsk. Both governments reaffirmed their commitment to deepening mutually beneficial economic cooperation across all priority sectors.
