The Golden Autumn - 2025 national youth table tennis tournament has come to a close in Almaty, uniting the strongest young talents from across Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.
Over six days of intense competition, athletes battled for medals across three age groups - those born in 2010-2012, 2013-2014, and 2015 or later, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.
The Kostanay region was represented by 13 athletes from Kostanay, Rudny, and Arkalyk. By the end of the tournament, the region celebrated two championship titles, both claimed by rising stars from Table Tennis School No. 2: Zhaniya Bekhmukhambetova and Dagir Daniyarov.
“Achieving two championship titles is an excellent result. The competition was intense, especially from the Uzbek team. Table tennis is developing rapidly in Uzbekistan, and many of their young athletes are already medalists at international events,” said Gaip Daniyarov, senior coach of the Kostanay regional team.
Uzbek athletes delivered one of their strongest performances yet, cementing their status as key rivals to Kazakhstan’s youth squad.
Daniyarov noted that table tennis is gaining significant momentum in Kazakhstan thanks to improved infrastructure, accessible training programs, and consistent work within sports schools. Support from both the public and private sectors is helping expand training opportunities, boost participation in tournaments, and drive competitive progress.
A major contributor to this success is partner support. The regional youth team has long received assistance from the automotive company Allur, which provides equipment, uniforms, and helps athletes participate in major competitions. The Kostanay Table Tennis Federation also plays an active role by supporting training, facilitating travel, and promoting the sport across the region.
Daniyarov emphasized that excellence in table tennis requires more than physical skills - emotional resilience, fast decision-making, and a strong competitive mindset are essential.
“We train every day, seven times a week. Typically, the one who works harder than everyone else delivers the best results,” he noted.
The Golden Autumn tournament remains one of Kazakhstan’s key youth competitions, offering a platform to assess team readiness, update rankings, and identify the next generation of table tennis talent.
