Kazakhstan Expands Flights to China and Uzbekistan, Plans New Routes

Kazakh Civil Aviation Committee Chairwoman Saltanat Tompiyeva has stated that Kazakhstan is intensifying efforts to expand air links with China and Uzbekistan by introducing new routes and increasing flight frequencies.

Tompiyeva made these remarks at the second Central Asia-China Civil Aviation Cooperation Working Group Conference, The Caspian Post reports per Kazakh media.

During bilateral talks with aviation authorities from China and Uzbekistan, Tompiyeva revealed plans to boost both the number and geographic scope of flights.

She noted that since the open skies agreement with China was signed last year, flights between the two countries have nearly doubled, accompanied by the addition of new destinations and carriers.

Discussions are also underway to attract investments in the aviation sector, including plans to develop air hubs that will support further growth.
