Six Kazakh companies are preparing to export mutton, beef, and live livestock to Jordan, signaling a new phase in Kazakhstan’s growing agricultural trade with the Middle East.
The announcement followed a meeting at the Kazakh Ministry of Agriculture with representatives of the Veterinary Control and Supervision Committee from Jordan’s veterinary services, The Caspian Post reports, citing Kazakh media.
The two sides discussed the necessary procedures for organizing meat and livestock exports from Kazakhstan to the Jordanian market.
Kazakh officials presented details of the country’s national veterinary control system, highlighting traceability mechanisms, certification protocols, and biosecurity practices that ensure compliance with international food safety standards.
To date, six Kazakh exporters have confirmed their readiness to begin shipments to Jordan, pending final approval of veterinary certificates. The meeting also paved the way for further steps to strengthen trade and economic cooperation in the agricultural sector.
In 2024, Kazakhstan exported over 30,000 tons of meat, with a portion reaching Middle Eastern markets. The country aims to boost that volume to 50,000 tons, reinforcing its status as a reliable supplier of high-quality agricultural products.
