Kazakhstan Joins Abraham Accords to Promote Regional Stability

At the Forum marking the International Year of Peace and Trust, the International Day of Neutrality, and Turkmenistan’s 30th anniversary of neutrality, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev highlighted Kazakhstan’s commitment to resolving regional conflicts.

“We welcome the signing of agreements on the Middle East situation. Joining the Abraham Accords reflects Kazakhstan’s effort to stabilize the region. At the same time, we support the establishment of a sovereign Palestinian state,” Tokayev said, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.

He also noted the historic significance of the Azerbaijan-Armenia Joint Declaration on Peace, which opens opportunities for broader cooperation and hoped for a swift comprehensive peace treaty to guarantee stability in the South Caucasus.

Earlier, Tokayev arrived in Ashgabat on December 11 and was welcomed by Turkmenistan’s Halk Maslakhaty (People's Council) Chairman Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. The two presidents discussed prospects for bilateral cooperation and implementing agreements from Turkmenistan’s recent state visit to Astana.

The Kazakh president also participated in a wreath-laying ceremony at the Monument of Neutrality, symbolizing Turkmenistan’s dedication to peace and creativity.
