Kunsulu Zakarya has been officially relieved of her duties as Advisor to the President of Kazakhstan on Science and Innovations.
Born on July 2, 1967, in Karsakpay, Ulytau region, Zakarya is a graduate of the Aktobe Pedagogical Institute. She further enhanced her expertise through specialized training and internships at K-Water in South Korea and Venice International University in Italy, The Caspian Post informs via Kazakh media.
Zakarya began her professional career in 1989 at the Ospanov West Kazakhstan State Medical University. Over the years, she has earned prestigious accolades, including the Al-Farabi Science and Technology State Prize, and holds memberships in the Academy of Natural Sciences and as a corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences. Notably, she was a leading figure in the development of Kazakhstan’s homegrown QazCovid-in (QazVac) vaccine.
Her extensive experience includes managing, coordinating, monitoring, and overseeing 10 major scientific and technical programs focused on biotechnology, biosecurity, and microbiology. These programs encompass over 200 scientific projects, 22 of which involved international cooperation.
