Kazakhstan's Mangystau Welcomes Record Number of Tourists

Governor of Kazakhstan's Mangystau region Nurdaulet Kilybay has announced that in the first nine months of 2025, Mangystau region attracted over 350,000 tourists, generating 17.2 billion tenge ($33.776 million) in revenue.

Tourism numbers in the region continue rising annually, with a 13 per cent year-on-year increase, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.

Seventeen new tourist investment projects worth 198 billion tenge ($388.826 million) are planned for 2025-2029, expected to create up to 800 jobs. This year, four facilities were launched, including Omirapartments (second stage), Wyndham Garden Aktau, Shahristan hotels, and the renovated Dostar hotel.

A thermal mineral resort is under construction, while the children’s AqquResort & Camp opened on the Caspian Sea. The Bozzhyra Tract visitor center is set to open next tourist season.

Infrastructure upgrades are underway with modernization of Mangystau, Shetpe, and Beineu railway stations and construction of a new airport in Kendirli, further enhancing the region’s tourism potential. The region aims to attract over 10 trillion tenge ($19.637 billion) in investments next year.
