Kazakhstan’s Qazaq Air, operating under the brand Vietjet Qazaqstan, has announced the launch of two new international routes, connecting the capital Astana with Bishkek in Kyrgyzstan and Samarkand in Uzbekistan.
This expansion is part of a broader effort to strengthen regional connectivity and aligns with President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s strategic vision to promote tourism, trade, education, and cultural cooperation across Central Asia, The Caspian Post informs via Kazakh media.
Starting November 7, flights on the Astana-Samarkand-Astana route will operate twice weekly, on Fridays and Sundays. The Astana-Bishkek-Astana route will begin on November 10, also running twice a week, on Mondays and Thursdays.
With its primary hub at Astana International Airport, Qazaq Air enables convenient onward connections to other regional destinations such as Omsk and Novosibirsk, in addition to its growing domestic network.
“These new routes aim to enhance business, tourism, and cultural ties throughout the region,” the airline’s press office said in a statement.
The announcement reflects Kazakhstan’s broader aviation growth trend. Just recently, FlyArystan, the country’s low-cost carrier, revealed plans to launch direct flights from Aktau to Dubai beginning November 29.
