The Bishkek Travel Fest Youth Tourism Festival is currently in full swing in the Kyrgyz capital, uniting tourism professionals, young entrepreneurs, and local businesses in a dynamic celebration of domestic tourism.
One of the festival’s flagship events - an open-air tourism forum - took place in Yntymak Park, transforming the public space into a vibrant hub for showcasing tourism-related initiatives and products, The Caspian Post informs via Kyrgyz media.
Deputy Mayor Victoria Mozgacheva attended the forum, where she toured the exhibitions and engaged with participants. She underlined the importance of domestic tourism as a strategic focus of city policy, noting its potential to boost Bishkek’s cultural profile and local economy.
The fair brought together a broad range of sectors, featuring tour operators, artisans, food producers, and craft vendors. Visitors were invited to explore travel offers from local companies, taste traditional Kyrgyz cuisine, buy natural honey and beekeeping products, and browse handcrafted souvenirs from local artisans.
The core aim of the festival is to foster collaboration among industry leaders, students, business owners, and young tourism enthusiasts. It serves as a platform for idea exchange, discussion of emerging trends, and presentation of innovative projects in the youth and domestic tourism sectors.
Special attention was given to youth-led initiatives. Participants showcased a variety of ethno-tourism and eco-tourism concepts, alongside digital tools and interactive travel formats.
Two standout projects captured public interest:
iZDE, a digital platform designed to promote domestic travel through interactive technologies;
“As a Nomad”, an audio-guided theatrical performance that turns city walks into immersive storytelling experiences.
