British tourists have been safely rescued in Kazakhstan’s steppe after their vehicle became stuck in a salt marsh and left them stranded for more than a day.
The incident occurred in the Tuzbair area of the Mangystau Region, where a tourist vehicle carrying visitors from the United Kingdom became bogged down in difficult terrain and was unable to continue its journey, The Caspian Post reports via Zakon.kz.
Emergency responders from Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Emergency Situations were deployed to the scene. The vehicle was carrying two adults and a 12-year-old child at the time.
Due to the challenging natural conditions, the evacuation operation lasted more than 24 hours. Rescuers eventually used specialized equipment to extract the vehicle and guide it back onto a safe route.
No injuries were reported, and none of the tourists required medical assistance.
