This year, Kazakhstan's Ulytau region launched 17 investment projects totaling 138 billion tenge ($272 million), including the completion of an oil depot, a wind power plant, and a respirator factory.
By 2028, authorities plan to expand to 25 projects worth up to 920 billion tenge ($1.818 billion), expected to create over 2,000 new jobs, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.
An industrial zone in Satpayev is already underway, with three projects worth 5 billion tenge ($9.883 million) generating 100 jobs. Infrastructure work began this year and will finish next year.
The development aims to boost small and medium enterprises, strengthen trade and transport links, and diversify the local economy. Social and infrastructure projects worth 50.3 billion tenge ($99.431 million) are being implemented with support from Kazakhmys, KazZinc, Qarmet, and the Bolat Utemuratov Foundation.
The region also plans to build social facilities worth up to 60 billion tenge ($118.606 million), further enhancing local living standards.
