As of July 1, 2025, Kazakhstan’s population reached 20,387,811, marking an increase from 20,283,399 recorded at the beginning of the year.
Almaty remains the nation’s most populous city, housing 2,319,893 residents, The Caspian Post reports per Kazakh media.
Following closely is Turkistan region with 2,150,228 people and Almaty region with 1,578,089 inhabitants.
The capital city, Astana, is home to 1,576,337 individuals, while Shymkent’s population stands at 1,277,743. Other notable regions include Zhambyl with 1,220,041 residents and Karaganda with 1,132,697.
