Kazakhstan Strengthens Role as Digital Transit Hub

Kazakhstan, strategically positioned between Europe and Asia, is strengthening its role as a digital transit hub.

Deputy Prime Minister Zhaslan Madiyev, who also serves as Minister of AI and Digital Development, highlighted the country’s pivotal position in international internet traffic, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.

To enhance transit potential, Kazakhstan has launched a project to lay a fiber-optic communication line along the Caspian Sea toward Azerbaijan. Madiyev emphasized that the project will reinforce Kazakhstan’s role as a digital bridge between East and West and improve the resilience of global data transmission channels.

Construction of the undersea optical cable is expected to be completed by the end of 2026, further solidifying Kazakhstan’s growing influence in regional and international digital infrastructure.
