Chairman of Kazakhstan's QazaqGaz Alibek Zhamauov has announced that construction of the Kashagan Gas Processing Plant (GPP) is set to be finalized by December 2026.
Zhamauov noted that equipment deliveries for the facility will be completed by July 2026, with construction and installation of the integrated gas treatment unit scheduled to wrap up by October 2026, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.
Providing an update on the country’s energy performance, he added that Kazakhstan exported 3.9 billion cubic meters of gas in the first nine months of 2025 - 28 per cent higher than projected. The domestic gas supply plan was also fully achieved, reaching 13.6 billion cubic meters.
The Kashagan GPP is among Kazakhstan’s most significant energy infrastructure projects, designed to enhance gas processing capacity, reduce flaring, and ensure reliable supply for both domestic consumption and international export markets.
Once operational, the plant is expected to play a pivotal role in strengthening Kazakhstan’s position as a regional energy hub and supporting the country’s long-term energy security goals.
