Kazakhstan has emerged as the leading importer of Russian margarine in 2025, accounting for 26 per cent of total exports, as shipments to neighboring Central Asian countries surged.
In 2025, Russia exported margarine worth nearly $350 million, marking a 27 per cent increase compared to 2024. Shipments exceeded 200,000 tons, though exact trends were not detailed, The Caspian Post reports via Russian media.
Kazakhstan was the largest buyer, accounting for 26 per cent of exports, followed by Uzbekistan at 15 per cent, Tajikistan 13 per cent, Belarus 11 per cent, and Azerbaijan 9 per cent.
The Eurasian Economic Union's (EAEU) shipment data covers 10 months, with full-year results to be released later. The historical peak for Russian margarine exports was in 2022, when sales topped $715 million.
