The EXPO 2025 Osaka, themed Designing Future Society for Our Lives, concluded successfully after six months, with Kazakhstan’s self-built pavilion earning top honors.
On October 12, Kazakhstan’s pavilion was awarded gold in Category C (pavilions under 1,750 m²) for Theme Development, standing out among 90 competing countries, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.
From the expo’s opening day, the pavilion quickly became a favorite among Japanese and international visitors alike.
Kazakhstan's Pavilion showcased the nation’s rich culture, traditions, history, and impressive strides in digital innovation and sustainable development. Over the course of the event, it hosted nine business and cultural events, becoming a dynamic platform for global collaboration and exchange.
A highlight was Kazakhstan’s National Day on August 10, marking the 180th anniversary of the esteemed Kazakh thinker Abai Kunanbayuly. The day featured a flag-raising ceremony and a grand cultural program attended by nearly 3,000 guests.
Dimitri Kerkentzes, Secretary General of the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE), praised the pavilion’s outstanding organization and thematic depth.
Located in the “Empowering Lives” cluster, the Kazakhstan Pavilion welcomed around 1.5 million visitors, including government delegations, international organizations, diplomats, business leaders, media representatives, and cultural figures.
EXPO 2025 Osaka, held from April 13 to October 13 on Yumeshima Island, united 160 countries and nine international organizations and attracted approximately 28 million visitors. In its final weeks, the event saw daily attendances exceeding 200,000, with venues often reaching full capacity as the grand international exhibition drew to a close.
