Kazakhstan Unveils AI Tourism Revolution with New National Portal

Kazakhstan is set to take a major leap in tourism digitalization with the launch of a unified national tourism portal, Kazakhstan.travel, featuring an AI-powered virtual assistant by December 2026.

Speaking at a government meeting, Kazakhstan’s Minister of Tourism and Sports, Yerbol Myrzabossynov, said the initiative is part of the country’s broader strategy to build a unified digital tourism ecosystem, The Caspian Post reports via Kazinform.

The new platform will bring together tourism information from across the country into a single online hub. Visitors will have access to an events calendar, tourism publications, a national photo bank, and immersive 3D tours of Kazakhstan’s most popular attractions.

To better serve international travelers, the portal will be available in eight languages, making it easier for tourists worldwide to explore destinations and plan trips across the country.

A key feature of the project will be KazTuristBot, an AI-based travel assistant designed to provide personalized recommendations, itinerary planning, and round-the-clock support for visitors.

Meanwhile, authorities continue to expand eQonaq, Kazakhstan’s digital system for monitoring tourist flows. More than 900,000 users have already registered on the platform, highlighting the growing role of technology in the country’s tourism sector.

The announcement comes as Kazakhstan’s tourism industry continues to gain momentum. The minister noted that tourism generated 630 billion tenge in budget revenues last year, underscoring the sector’s increasing contribution to the national economy.

With the launch of Kazakhstan.travel and its AI-powered services, the country aims to enhance the visitor experience, strengthen its global tourism profile, and accelerate the digital transformation of one of its fastest-growing industries.
