The Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) has announced that Kyrgyzstan dramatically increased its chicken egg exports, with shipments to Kazakhstan rising eightfold in the first five months of 2025.
Between January and May, the country exported over 3.28 million eggs, compared to just 409,000 during the same period last year, The Caspian Post reports, citing Kyrgyz media.
The surge signals a robust performance in the agricultural export sector, particularly in poultry products.
To meet growing demand and boost domestic production, Kyrgyzstan is set to launch a major poultry development project. Plans include the construction of a poultry complex designed to produce up to 13 million chicks annually. The facility will feature three parent chicken houses with a combined capacity of 75,000 birds, an incubator, and production infrastructure for 6.5 million day-old chicks per year.
In a further move to support local producers, the government introduced a ban on chicken egg imports starting May 1, 2025. The policy is expected to encourage self-sufficiency and stimulate growth within the national poultry industry.
