Kazakhstan’s aviation ambitions have taken center stage at the Dubai AirShow, where a delegation from the Transport Ministry, led by Vice Minister Talgat Lastayev, held high-level talks with Boeing, Airbus, and De Havilland.
According to the ministry, the discussions focused on securing timely deliveries of new aircraft and spare parts for Kazakh airlines - a key factor in expanding international routes, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.
Boeing Vice President Paul Wrigley confirmed that Air Astana will receive its first 787 Dreamliner in July 2026, while a 737 MAX 8 for Vietjet Qazaqstan (Qazaq Air) is slated for September 2026.
The Kazakh side stressed that meeting these delivery schedules will unlock new opportunities for long-haul routes, including potential flights to New York and Singapore.
Airbus Vice President Charbel Youzkatli said the company is ready to explore the opening of a technical center in Kazakhstan and expressed interest in expanding air cargo operations in the region.
De Havilland representatives announced the rollout of a new aircraft model suitable for Kazakhstan’s vast regional network, where long distances between cities require reliable short-haul planes.
In addition, SCAT Airlines unveiled its latest aircraft - a Boeing 737 MAX 8 with registration UP-B3746 - marking another step forward in strengthening the global presence of Kazakhstan’s aviation industry.
Earlier, the information went viral that Kazakhstan plans to build a plant for eco-friendly aviation fuel.
