Kazakhstan is deepening energy cooperation with Türkiye as KazMunayGas and Turkish Petroleum Corporation explore potential joint projects in geological exploration and production.
Speaking at the 14th Kazakhstan-Türkiye Intergovernmental Commission, Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov emphasized that energy cooperation remains a key area of bilateral relations and plays an important role in ensuring regional stability, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.
He noted that Turkish companies are already actively involved in major oil and gas projects across Kazakhstan, while strategic routes like the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline continue to serve as vital infrastructure for exporting Kazakh oil to global markets.
Bektenov noted that discussions between KazMunayGas and Turkish Petroleum Corporation are focused on launching joint exploration and production initiatives, with investment agreements seen as a priority.
Beyond oil and gas, Kazakhstan is also expanding cooperation in the energy sector. AKSA Energy is currently building a 240 MW combined-cycle power plant in Kyzylorda, highlighting growing Turkish investment in the country.
