Uzbekistan Railways (Uzbekiston Temir Yullari) has held a meeting with Alevtina Kirilova, CEO of Eurasian Agrologistics, to discuss the development of the AgroExpress corridor linking Central Asia and Russia.
The talks took place as part of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s initiative announced at the Central Asia-Russia Summit, aimed at strengthening regional transport and trade ties, The Caspian Post informs via Uzbek media.
The meeting focused on expanding railway transportation of agricultural exports between Uzbekistan, Russia, and Kazakhstan, and on launching the AgroExpress project - a fast-track logistics route designed to deliver perishable goods efficiently across borders.
Special attention was given to the introduction of unified preferential tariffs among the three countries’ rail networks and to simplifying customs and border procedures to accelerate freight movement.
Following the discussions, the parties agreed to hold a joint trilateral meeting with Kazakhstan to finalize technical details and coordinate practical steps for implementing AgroExpress, a key project expected to enhance food supply chains and regional connectivity.
