3.5-Magnitude Earthquake Strikes Near Kyrgyz-Kazakh Border

A 3.5-magnitude earthquake struck near the Kyrgyz-Kazakh border at 9:19 a.m. on May 1, according to the Seismology Institute of the National Academy of Sciences.

The epicenter of the earthquake was 25 km to the north-east of Karkyra village and 95 km to the north-east of the town of Karakol, The Caspian Post reports citing Akipress.

Earth tremors were not felt in populated areas in Kyrgyzstan.
