Batken Mine Collapse Ends in Successful Rescue of Four Workers in Kyrgyzstan

Rescuers from the Kyrgyz Ministry of Emergency Situations have successfully pulled four miners to safety after they were trapped 110 meters underground in the Batken region.

The incident occurred on November 23 at the Adakhan mine in the town of Sulukta, where a collapse left several workers unable to exit the shaft. Emergency teams were immediately deployed to the scene, The Caspian Post reports via Kyrgyz media.

To maintain airflow for the trapped miners, rescuers first used a pipe system to channel oxygen into the underground space. Clearing the debris proved challenging, but after hours of continuous work, the passage was opened.

At 23:05 (GMT+6), all four miners were lifted to the surface. The Ministry of Emergency Situations has not yet released details on their condition, but the rescue operation has been deemed a success.
