Chinese investors with experience in major hotel projects at home have shown interest in developing the Ala-Too Resort in Kyrgyzstan’s Issyk-Kul region.
Representatives of Chinese construction firms visited the future site alongside Azamat Kadyraliev, head of the Cabinet’s Decision-Preparation Department, and Zharkynbek Maksutov, director of the Ala-Too Resort state enterprise, The Caspian Post reports via Kyrgyz media.
The enterprise noted that, following the president’s initiative and state support, construction is underway for access roads, a cable car, and water supply facilities. Investors expressed interest in participating in the second phase of the land auction for plots in the future tourist town of Jyrgalan.
During the first phase in July, local investors purchased 14 lots. The upcoming auction will offer 35 additional plots. Foreign investors winning a lot will lease land for 49 years to build hotels, apartments, cottages, an ethno-village, restaurants, and other facilities, while local investors may obtain full ownership.
The auction will be conducted openly and online, welcoming local and foreign investors, construction companies, and tourism industry representatives.
