Foreign ministers, defense ministers, and security council secretaries of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) member states have met in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan for a joint session focused on countering transnational threats, terrorism, and cyber risks.
The participants discussed ways to strengthen regional security, improve the effectiveness of collective defense mechanisms, coordinate foreign policy efforts, and respond to emerging security challenges, The Caspian Post informs via Kazakh media.
The meeting included an exchange of views on the strategic priorities of cooperation among CSTO member states in the fields of defense and security, as well as measures to counter transnational threats, including terrorism and cyber threats.
Following the session, the participants adopted several decisions aimed at further reinforcing the CSTO’s collective security framework. These included the approval of a new Counter-Narcotics Strategy and a five-year plan for military cooperation. The delegations also discussed expanding CSTO partnerships with other international organizations, including the CIS and the SCO.
