Police in Kyrgyzstan have detained suspects involved in the trafficking of synthetic drugs in the capital Bishkek.
According to investigators, the operation led officers to a 31-year-old man, who worked as a packer for an online drug marketplace, preparing and distributing narcotics for sale, The Caspian Post reports via Kyrgyz media.
His accomplice, a 27-year-old woman, was responsible for drug “drop” deliveries. The pair reportedly referred to themselves online as “Bonnie and Clyde.”
During the search, police discovered synthetic drugs and psychotropic substances hidden in a shoebox, along with equipment used for packaging, including electronic scales, tape, small bags, and other materials. Officers also found a white powder substance in the kitchen.
The total seized amount weighed 2.295 kilograms, equivalent to about 6,885 individual doses, with an estimated street value of 10-12 million soms.
A criminal case has been opened under Article 282 of the Criminal Code of Kyrgyzstan.
