Kyrgyz President Launches Construction of Massive New Residential Town in Bishkek

Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov has laid the capsule for the construction of Altai, one of Kyrgyzstan’s largest residential and social development projects.

Spanning 234 hectares, Altai is set to transform Bishkek’s urban landscape, The Caspian Post informs via Kyrgyz media.

The project will feature 1,551 five-story buildings housing more than 34,000 apartments, with a total development area exceeding 1 million square meters.

Designed as a full-service urban district, Altai will include schools, kindergartens, hospitals, polyclinics, rehabilitation centers, police and fire stations, and other key public facilities. A 50-hectare park, modern sports grounds, and children’s playgrounds will provide ample space for recreation.

The project also includes nearly 86 km of internal roads, 50 km of sidewalks, and parking for 34,500 vehicles, creating a modern, accessible transportation network.

Speaking at the ceremony, President Japarov said the initiative aims to meet the capital’s growing demand for affordable, quality housing.

“More than 200,000 of our citizens need homes today. A project of this scale is essential. With the support of our people, we believe Altai will meet expectations and become a source of gratitude,” he noted.
