Kyrgyz President Signs Law Allowing Servicemen to Take Part-Time Jobs

President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov has signed amendments to the Law “On the Status of Servicemen,” granting military personnel broader rights to engage in part-time employment outside their official duties.

Under the new legislation, servicemen - excluding those on compulsory military service - may be allowed by their commanders or institution heads to take on additional work, The Caspian Post reports via Kyrgyz media.

The law permits military personnel to officially participate in:

Scientific, educational, inventive, and expert activities

Medical practice (only within state and municipal healthcare institutions)

Professional development and experience exchange initiatives

The amendments aim to support career growth and skill enhancement among Kyrgyz servicemen while maintaining discipline and duty standards.

The law will take effect 10 days after publication.
