During his official state visit to Tajikistan, Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov held high-level talks with Speaker of the Lower Chamber of the Tajik Parliament Faizali Idizoda, focusing on ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation across political, economic, and cultural spheres.
The leaders also focused on interparliamentary relations, as well as expanding ties in trade, culture, and humanitarian affairs, The Caspian Post reports via Kyrgyz media.
Idizoda underscored the importance of deepening good-neighborly relations, noting that long-term regional stability and prosperity depend on constructive dialogue between the two countries. He also announced the formation of a new parliamentary friendship group with Kyrgyzstan in the Tajik parliament, a step toward institutionalizing legislative collaboration.
To build on this momentum, President Japarov proposed the creation of a bilateral parliamentary mechanism that would include sector-specific committees and friendship groups from both nations. Such a structure, he noted, would help maintain ongoing dialogue and further promote cultural exchange and diaspora engagement between Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan.
Both parties concluded the meeting by reaffirming their mutual commitment to strengthening cooperation and advancing shared regional interests through continued political and parliamentary collaboration.
