Kyrgyzstan has officially entered the race to host the 2026 UWW U20 World Wrestling Championships.
The event, one of the most prestigious in international wrestling for athletes under 20, is provisionally scheduled to take place from October 12 to 18, 2026, The Caspian Post reports, citing Kyrgyz media.
Kyrgyzstan faces strong competition from Poreč, Croatia and Las Vegas, US, both of which are also bidding to stage the championship.
If selected, this would mark a historic first for Kyrgyzstan, which has previously hosted Asian-level wrestling competitions, but never a global tournament under the UWW banner.
