President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov has held a historic one-on-one meeting with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, marking the first official visit of a Kyrgyz president to Africa, with both leaders emphasizing the goal of giving new momentum to bilateral relations and elevating cooperation to a strategic level.
Following the personal meeting, discussions continued in an expanded format with the participation of both countries’ government delegations, The Caspian Post reports via Kyrgyz media.
The agenda included political dialogue, trade and economic cooperation, investment, and cultural exchange, with both sides noting the positive dynamics of growing bilateral ties.
President Japarov highlighted Egypt’s significant regional role and announced the decision to open the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in Cairo, underscoring Bishkek’s commitment to strengthening ties with Egypt.
The two leaders agreed to sign several bilateral agreements and to establish an intergovernmental commission on cooperation, with its first meeting proposed to be held in Bishkek - a suggestion welcomed by the Egyptian side.
Kyrgyzstan also invited President El-Sisi to pay an official visit to Bishkek and take part in the 2026 SCO Summit and the World Nomad Games, further deepening the spirit of partnership and cultural exchange between the two nations.
