A new law has come into effect in Kyrgyzstan, establishing penalties for violations in the digital sphere. Under the legislation, fines of up to 65,000 soms can be imposed for offenses such as refusing to accept digital documents or violating users' digital rights.
President Sadyr Japarov amended the Code of Offenses, which now takes into account the norms of the recently adopted Digital Code, The Caspian Post reports citing foreign media.
The main goal is to protect the digital rights of citizens and establish clear rules for companies and government agencies.

Fines for violations in the field of postal and radio frequency communications have also been increased.
The law will come into force in six months.
