Kyrgyzstan and Mongolia have formally reached an agreement to mutually recognize and exchange each other’s national driver’s licenses.
Once fully in effect, citizens of both countries will be able to drive freely in the other nation without having to undergo extra tests or administrative procedures, The Caspian Post reports via Kyrgyz media.
The agreement was approved by the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic and ratified in coordination with the Mongolian government. Under its terms:
The State Agency for Registration of Vehicles and Drivers has been appointed to implement the agreement on Kyrgyzstan’s side.
The Foreign Ministry will notify Mongolian counterparts when all internal legal and administrative processes have been completed, at which point the agreement will come into force.
