Kyrgyzstan and Montenegro are stepping up business cooperation with a strong focus on tourism, following high-level meetings held in Podgorica.
During a working visit to Montenegro’s capital, President of the Kyrgyz Chamber of Commerce and Industry Temir Sariev met with Montenegrin government and business representatives to discuss expanding bilateral economic ties, The Caspian Post reports via 24.kg.
Sariev held talks with Vice President of the Montenegro Chamber of Commerce Pavle Radovanović and Director of the International Cooperation Department Dušan Radonjić. The sides signed a memorandum of cooperation between the chambers aimed at strengthening entrepreneurship and investment links.
Tourism emerged as a key area of cooperation, with both countries agreeing to explore internship opportunities for Kyrgyz specialists and exchange expertise in the sector. Officials noted that tourism accounts for more than 30% of Montenegro’s GDP, making it a valuable model for collaboration.
Sariev also met with Montenegro’s Tourism Minister Simonida Kordić to discuss broader tourism cooperation and Kyrgyzstan’s participation in an international tourism forum under the auspices of the United Nations scheduled for October this year.
