Kyrgyzstan, Seychelles Agree on Visa-Free Travel for Short Stays

Kyrgyzstan and the Seychelles have signed a landmark agreement allowing visa-free entry for short-term visits, marking a new step in bilateral cooperation.

The deal was concluded during a meeting between Kyrgyz Foreign Minister Jeenbek Kulubaev and Seychelles Foreign Affairs and Diaspora Minister Barry Faure, The Caspian Post reports via Kyrgyz media.

Under the agreement, citizens of both countries will be able to travel without visas for short stays, making tourism, business trips, and cultural exchanges easier and more accessible.

Officials also discussed expanding cooperation across multiple sectors, including agriculture, tourism, education, digital governance, and sustainable development. Climate-related initiatives were also highlighted as a shared priority.

The visit is particularly notable as it marks the first official trip by a Seychelles foreign minister to Kyrgyzstan since the establishment of diplomatic relations.

Following the talks, both sides signed the visa-free agreement and reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening political dialogue and economic ties.

The Seychelles delegation is visiting Kyrgyzstan from May 3 to 6 at the invitation of the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry, with additional high-level meetings planned during the trip.
