Kyrgyzstan to Implement Simplified Visa Procedures for Foreigners Starting January 22

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic has announced updates to the visa issuance process, The Caspian Post reports citing local media.

Specifically, an expedited electronic visa issuance procedure will be launched, allowing applicants to obtain their visas within 24 hours from submitting an application when choosing the service at the urgent tariff.

Foreign nationals planning to visit Kyrgyzstan for business, tourism, or private purposes (such as visiting friends or undergoing medical check-ups) will be able to apply for a new visa category, «Sapar Visa (Type J),» valid for up to 90 days with single or multiple entries/exits.

The previously valid visa categories-«business», «tourism», and «mountain tourism»-will be abolished.

These innovations will be available on «Electronic Visa» portal starting January 22, 2025.

In this regard, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs advises planning trips to Kyrgyzstan in advance.
