Kyrgyzstan Updates Rules for Foreigners’ Stay

The Kyrgyz Cabinet of Ministers has amended the rules governing the stay of foreign citizens in the country, aiming to streamline migration procedures.

Under the updated regulations, the allowed duration of stay now clearly depends on the visitor’s citizenship and the basis for entry, The Caspian Post reports via Kyrgyz media.

Foreigners entering Kyrgyzstan on a visa or residence permit may remain in the country for the duration of their documents.

Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) citizens-from Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Russia-can stay up to 90 days within each 180-day period without additional paperwork.

Citizens of certain countries listed in the regulation enjoy a 30-day visa-free stay per 60-day period, unless otherwise specified by international agreements. Uzbek citizens may stay up to 60 days within a 120-day period.

Special provisions allow citizens from Serbia, Türkiye, Ukraine, and Mongolia to remain up to 90 days in each 180-day period. Citizens of Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman, and Bahrain can stay up to 180 days in each 360-day period.

For the first time, a unilateral 60-day visa-free regime has been introduced for holders of United Nations Laissez-Passer passports. At the same time, one entry has been removed from the previous list of eligible countries.

The amendment takes effect upon official publication, providing clear, structured rules for foreign visitors to Kyrgyzstan.
