Kyrgyzstan has secured 75th place in the latest Henley & Partners Passport Power Index, highlighting the current level of travel freedom available to its citizens and placing the country alongside Uzbekistan in the global ranking.
Henley & Partners released its updated World Passport Index 2026, offering a fresh look at global travel freedom based on data from the International Air Transport Association (IATA), The Caspian Post reports via Kyrgyz media.
The ranking evaluates more than 100 passports worldwide, measuring how many destinations their holders can access without a visa or with a visa on arrival.
In Central Asia, Kazakhstan emerged with the strongest passport, ranking 61st globally. Kazakh citizens can travel visa-free to 78 countries, making it the most powerful passport in the region. Kyrgyzstan placed 75th, sharing the position with Uzbekistan, and offers visa-free access to 61 destinations. Notably, Kyrgyzstan slipped two places compared to its 73rd position in 2025.
Further down the list, Tajikistan ranked 81st, with access to 54 countries, while Turkmenistan placed 87th, allowing visa-free travel to 47 destinations.
At the top of the global ranking, Singapore retained its leading position, granting access to 192 countries. Japan and South Korea followed closely, each with visa-free or visa-on-arrival access to 188 destinations.
The Henley & Partners Passport Index is widely regarded as a key benchmark of global mobility. Countries are ranked solely on the number of destinations their citizens can enter without obtaining a visa in advance, highlighting how diplomatic ties and visa policies shape international travel freedom.
