Kyrgyzstan has made The New York Times’ 2026 list of the world’s top tourist destinations.
The Tien Shan Mountains earned a spot among 52 inspiring locations, highlighting the country’s natural beauty and cultural richness, The Caspian Post reports via Kyrgyz media.
The inclusion confirms Kyrgyzstan’s growing international tourism appeal. The Tien Shan ranges, a symbol of the nation and one of Central Asia’s most stunning landscapes, have drawn global attention as a must-visit destination for 2026.
The New York Times list features diverse destinations, from vibrant cities like Warsaw and Bangkok to natural wonders across Asia, Africa, and beyond.
Kyrgyzstan’s tourism department sees the recognition as a boost for promoting the country as safe, sustainable, and visitor-friendly. Plans are underway to further develop infrastructure, support local tourism, and participate in international exhibitions and forums.
