President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov met with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov in Cholpon-Ata, Issyk-Kul, The Caspian Post reports citing the AkiPress.
The sides discussed bilateral and multilateral cooperation, as well as collaboration within integration organizations.
Japarov emphasized that Kyrgyzstan prioritizes the development of multifaceted ties with Russia grounded in alliance and strategic partnership. He noted that Russia remains Kyrgyzstan’s key trade and economic partner with a steady increase in direct investments and ongoing leadership in investment volume.
Special attention was given to the Kyrgyz-Russian Development Fund, which Japarov called a crucial tool for boosting investment cooperation.
The President highlighted positive economic trends in Kyrgyzstan noting significant progress over the past three years in sectors such as energy, transport, digitalization, tourism and critical mineral development.
Sergey Lavrov conveyed greetings from Russian President Vladimir Putin and stressed the importance of coordinated intergovernmental work inspired by strong leadership at the highest level.
Lavrov also noted ongoing integration efforts through the CIS, Eurasian Economic Union and CSTO, where Kyrgyzstan currently holds the chairmanship, and reaffirmed Russia’s support for Kyrgyzstan’s reforms and readiness to deepen cooperation.
The meeting concluded with both sides reaffirming their commitment to strengthening alliance relations and enhancing cooperation on the international stage.
