Kyrgyzstan to Launch Direct Flights to Europe After EU Aviation Safety Decision

Kyrgyzstan is preparing to launch direct flights to Europe next year following its removal from the European Union’s aviation safety “blacklist” marking a major milestone for the country’s aviation sector.

The preparations are underway to restore direct air connectivity with several major European destinations, The Caspian Post reports via Sputnik Kyrgyzstan.

Planned routes include Milan, Berlin, Brussels, Paris, and London, reflecting the country’s ambition to expand international travel links and strengthen its integration with European aviation networks.

To support the new routes, Kyrgyzstan plans to acquire two long-haul Airbus A321 aircraft. The aircraft are expected to be delivered in March 2027 under an already signed purchase agreement.

The return of direct flights to Europe would significantly improve mobility for passengers, boost tourism, and enhance business connectivity between Kyrgyzstan and European markets.

The development follows Kyrgyzstan’s removal from the EU aviation blacklist, which had previously restricted the country’s airlines from operating direct services to European destinations due to safety oversight concerns.
