Russia and Kyrgyzstan have moved to further bolster their strategic partnership following high-level talks between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov in Bishkek.
The meeting concluded with the signing of a joint statement aimed at strengthening the two countries’ alliance. The document outlines deeper cooperation across political, economic, and security spheres, The Caspian Post informs via Russian media.
As part of Putin’s state visit, the sides also exchanged seven official documents in the presence of both leaders, signaling expanded collaboration in multiple sectors.
President Japarov underscored Kyrgyzstan’s unwavering commitment to its close relationship with Moscow, describing Russia as a key ally and historic partner.
“I want to emphasize that this partnership fully aligns with our long-term national interests,” Japarov said during the ceremony.
President Putin highlighted the continued growth of economic ties, noting that Russia remains Kyrgyzstan’s top trade and economic partner. He pointed out that bilateral trade increased by 13.6 per cent last year, reaching an all-time high of $4.1 billion.
Putin’s state visit to Bishkek continues with further discussions focused on regional cooperation and integration initiatives.
