Tick Surge in Kyrgyzstan Leaves Dozens Injured

Health officials in Kyrgyzstan are warning residents after a spike in tick bites has left dozens of people affected, including children.

According to medical reports, 41 people have sought treatment after being bitten by ticks, including 21 children. One child has been hospitalized, while the others remain under medical supervision, The Caspian Post reports via Russian news website.

Doctors say tick activity is expected to peak in May-June and again in August-September, raising concerns over seasonal outbreaks.

Medical experts caution that tick bites can transmit dangerous infections, some of which may affect the nervous system and cause serious complications if untreated.

Authorities are urging people to take preventive steps when spending time outdoors, including:

Wearing long, closed clothing

Using insect repellents

Avoiding tall grass and dense vegetation

Checking the body after outdoor walks

Seeking medical help immediately if a tick is found

Health officials stress that early detection and proper removal are key to preventing severe illness.
