Georgia’s Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Mariam Kvrivishvili, met with U.S. Chargé d'Affaires Alan Persell to discuss the peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan, according to the ministry.
During the meeting, the parties discussed priority areas of cooperation between Georgia and the United States, highlighting the importance of bilateral strategic partnership, The Caspian Post reports.
Kvirivishvili noted that Tbilisi is interested in rebuilding relations with Washington and restoring strategic interactions.
The minister also underlined the importance of US President Donald Trump's peace initiatives, including the peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan, which has opened new opportunities for the development of the South Caucasus as a whole.
She added that the outcomes achieved in Washington are of great importance for maintaining peace and stability, which is a priority of the Georgian government.
The parties also reviewed a wide spectrum of economic cooperation, including trade, investment, and transportation. They also discussed the infrastructure projects implemented and planned by the Georgian government to develop and increase the competitiveness of the Middle Corridor.
