Tokayev Congratulates Putin on 20th Anniversary of Kazakh-Russian State Border Treaty

Kazakhstan’s President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has sent a telegram of congratulation his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the Treaty on the Kazakh-Russian State Border, The Caspian Post reports, citing Kazinform.

The document was signed in Moscow on January 18, 2005.

“This historically important document based on the generally recognized norms of international law, became a solid foundation for the legal registration of the longest land border in the world and the embodiment of our unshakable friendship, good neighborly relations and alliance,” the telegram reads.

The Head of State expressed confidence that the multifaceted cooperation between the two neighboring countries will continue to develop and strengthen.

On January 17, Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán had a telephone conversation. The sides discussed the topical issues of the bilateral agenda, emphasizing a high level of strategic partnership between the two countries.
