Drone Strikes Trigger Fires at Oil Depots in Russia's Tver and Stavropol

Drone attacks sparked fires at oil storage facilities in Russia's Tver region and Stavropol Territory on July 9 early morning, as Ukraine's long-range strikes on Russian energy infrastructure continue to intensify.

Drones targeted multiple fuel facilities overnight, including the Lukoil-Yugnefteprodukt oil depot in the city of Mikhailovsk, Stavropol Territory. Open-source intelligence analysts said eyewitness videos indicate the depot was directly hit, The Caspian Post reports via Kyiv Post.

The Lukoil-Yugnefteprodukt facility stores, transports and distributes petroleum products through a network of oil depots and Lukoil filling stations across southern and central Russia.

Stavropol Governor Vladimir Vladimirov confirmed that a drone attack caused a fire at an industrial facility in the village of Vyazniki, near Mikhailovsk. Firefighters were deployed to the scene, and authorities said there were no casualties or immediate risk to nearby residential areas.

The governor also reported that drone debris fell in the city of Stavropol near Kolomiytseva Street without causing injuries or significant damage. A drone alert remained in force across the region.

The same night, drones reportedly struck the Tvernefteprodukt oil depot in the Tver region, located northwest of Moscow, where another fire broke out.
