Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan Hold Talks on Trade and Resumption of Direct Flights

Adylbek Kasymaliev, Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan, held talks with Tajikistan's Prime Minister Kohir Rasulzoda in a restricted meeting on March 4 in Dushanbe.

The parties discussed a wide range of relevant bilateral cooperation issues, paying particular attention to prospects of development of trade and economic ties, The Caspian Post reports citing Akipress.

The parties emphasized the common goal to bolster bilateral trade up to $500 million by 2030.

Kyrgyzstan confirmed readiness to act as an effective link for supplies of Tajik products to the Eurasian Economic Union market and expressed interest in studying Tajikistan's experience in agricultural processing.

Significant attention was paid to successful cooperation in energy sector and importance of the soonest implementation of CASA-1000 Project was highlighted.

The parties called restart of direct flights between Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan as an important factor in intensification of bilateral ties.
