Russian President Vladimir Putin is meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit, where the leaders are expected to discuss a range of international issues and bilateral cooperation, with the situation in Ukraine likely to be a key topic, according to Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov.
“Ukraine will certainly be discussed,” he said, highlighting Ankara’s role in seeking a political and diplomatic resolution to the conflict, The Caspian Post reports via Russian media.
In addition, Ushakov expressed confidence that the meeting will cover developments in the Middle East, the Caucasus, and other regions. He also noted that this is the first in-person meeting between Putin and Erdoğan this year.
