Türkiye Captures Interpol-Wanted ISIS Member in Cross-Border Intelligence Operation

Türkiye's National Intelligence Organization (MİT) has captured and brought back to the country an ISIS member who was wanted by Interpol.

The suspect, Talip Güler, also known by the alias "Abdussalam Turki," was apprehended during a cross-border intelligence operation. Turkish authorities said he had been the subject of an Interpol Yellow Notice, The Caspian Post reports TRT Haber.

According to MİT, Güler was a member of the so-called "Faruk Office," a structure within ISIS that was responsible for coordinating the group's activities in Türkiye.

Investigators allege that Güler illegally crossed into Syria in January 2014, where he continued operating within ISIS while maintaining contact with the organization's leadership.

Turkish authorities have not disclosed further details about the operation, and the investigation is ongoing.
